How to Receive Voice Calls on Roamless

Incoming voice calls on Roamless

Updated over a week ago

Currently, you can make calls using your Roamless app, but you cannot receive voice calls. This feature is under development alongside Virtual Numbers.

Roamless eSIM is Data-only

  • Roamless eSIM is a data-only eSIM that does not have a phone number, or voice or SMS capabilities

  • As such, you cannot receive calls on the Roamless eSIM

  • Your regular phone number is not affected by the Roamless eSIM. You keep your regular number even when you install your Roamless eSIM

IMPORTANT: Please do not manually enter or apply any phone number to your Roamless eSIM under your device settings, as this may cause problems with your eSIM and/or with the phone number you enter. The Roamless eSIM is data-only.

Roamless Virtual Numbers (coming soon)

  • In Q4 2025, we plan to launch our "Virtual Numbers" feature

  • You will be able to select phone numbers from 20+ different country codes, subscribe to them and use them as CallerID, as well as to receive calls and SMS from inside the Roamless mobile app

  • This feature will again be independent of the Roamless eSIM and will work from inside the Roamless app (as VOIP calling)

  • You can use your Roamless mobile app to make phone calls to 200+ destinations using your pay-as-you-go balance; this feature works independently of your eSIM

  • Calls made from the Roamless app currently display static phone numbers as callerID (with +44 and +1 country codes) but these numbers cannot be called back

  • Once Virtual Numbers are launched, you can subscribe and with your own number, you will be able to receive calls from inside the Roamless app as well
