Updated over 2 weeks ago
  • Roamless eSIM is a data-only eSIM

  • It does not come with a default phone number, or voice or SMS capabilities

  • In other words, you cannot use the Roamless eSIM for regular phone calls (i.e., you cannot use your phone's default phone app)

You can use the Roamless mobile app to to make calls to 200+ destinations using our in-app calling feature.

You can use the Roamless mobile app to make outbound phone calls to 200+ destinations, using your pay-as-you-go balance, consuming it per minute of talk time.

  1. Open the Roamless app

  2. Make sure you have data connectivity (either on WiFi, or via your Roamless eSIM, or your regular SIM)

  3. Make sure you have pay-as-you-go-credits in your account

  4. Click on Calls tab

  5. You can sync your contacts or use the keypad to place your call

  6. Make sure you include +country code
    (e.g., +1 212 555 55 55 if you're calling the United States)

  7. You can see the per minute rate for the number you're calling on top of the keypad as well as the call-connecting screen

You can use the Roamless eSIM to make voice and video calls on all apps that rely on data (just like when you're on WiFi), including:

  • Whatsapp

  • iMessage & Facetime

  • Facebook Messenger

  • Viber

  • Line

  • and any other app that requires data connectivity

Please note:

  • Roamless in-app call rates are based on the number you're dialing, not your current location

  • Roamless in-app calls uses pay-as-you-go credits; you cannot make calls if you only have a data plan

  • Roamless in-app calls feature uses VOIP, so you need data connectivity to use it

  • Roamless eSIM is NOT required for the in-app calls feature to function; all you need is some type of data connectivity
(i.e. in-app calls work with WiFi as well as when you are using your regular SIM for mobile data)
